GP (general practice) Repair
GP is life support for scratched and scraped CDs. It
completes two repairs in one application by reducing damage "and" treating
damage so a laser can read "through" it. GP, alone can save 80% of damaged CDs.
For about 10 cents you can save nearly any CD. Don't replace them before you try our
product. Who knows, that $15.00 or more, could be spent on something new rather than
buying a replacement.
Really bad scratches can still be fixed!
We used to sell a kit that was designed for extra
severe damage but decided to instead just give you a simpler way to accomplish the same
results and maybe even be better for some damage. You can read more in our how to section
but basically it involves using an ultra fine grit sanding paper to remove a deeper
scratch that GP alone can't reduce and then doing treatments of the GP product to remove
leftover scuffing. The important part of this repair is to use sandpapers with a grit that is of 2000 to 3000 which is what is used between clear
coat finishes in auto painting. (1500 can work if you do extra rubbing with the GP) These
papers are not usually available at hardware stores but should be at auto repair suppliers
or even a body shop. Be sure you only do repairs on the play side (side without printing)
of any disc.
Since each product provides up to 100 treatments. That translates to about 10 cents
each for repair. 10 cents to repair a $15.00 music CD or $50.00 ROM .... not bad
economics.
